Early life and pre-fame:

Cruz was born in Stockton, California, to Filipino parents, who raised her Catholic. She attended Christian schools until she went to high school, where she was involved in many activities such as cheerleading, drama club, and journalism. At age 17 she graduated high school in top 5% of her senior class and later moved to San Rafael, California, to attend Dominican University of California where she studied print journalism. She transferred to San Francisco State University in her sophomore year.

On the site www.whatthedilly.com , she posed a question to many of her friends at the time; "Should I become a porn star?" The replies were pretty much everyone saying the obvious answer; a resounding yes.

Debut in the adult industry:

In October 2003 she broke into the adult entertainment industry by way of an amateur producer in San Francisco where she did her first girl on girl scene. She was just a month shy of turning 19 at the time. It wasn't until March of 2004 that she finally found her way to Los Angeles, California where she worked for another amateur company Limelight and also worked for other companies. She made one of her first notable movies for the reality porn website Bangbus in June 2004 where she appeared as "Kyra".

Cruz met husband J.L. in June 2004, and he proposed to her in October of that year. They married three months later at the Adult Entertainment Expo in Las Vegas for fans and the entire industry to witness. Since her entry into the porn world, Annie has landed her very own radio show on http://www.KSEXRadio.com and found her way into the boxing world, training with one of Laila Ali's (Muhammad Ali's daughter) former trainers. She has since won two boxing matches and is currently undefeated.

In 2006, according to www.anniecruz.com, Annie herself reported that she was in the process of divorcing her (now) ex-husband, Jack Lawrence, and is now dating someone named Christian, whose picture appears on the same site in her diary.

A self-proclaimed computer nerd, Annie manages her own website as well as 4 or 5 others.
