Starring: Krista Lane has the lead here, and she competes ably with some better-known pornstresses in this 1987 film by writer-producer Harold Lime and director Jack Remy. Nina Hartley, Tracey Adams, Ona "Zimmerman" (Zee), and an unbilled Nikki Knights provide enthusiastic support. Alex Greco has a brief non-sex role, and Veronica Hart reprises her title role from the original "Amanda" but, alas, doesn't perform sexually. Robert Bullock leads the male contigent, which also includes Billy Dee, Herschel Savage, Eric Edwards, and Mike Horner. The cast looks great (a compliment to makeup artist Alexis Vogel, who once performed in front of the porno camera as "Laurie Smith,") but the acting outside of the sex scenes is way overdone. Someone should have reminded the actors they were in a movie and not on the high-school stage.
The sex scenes, however, are very satisfying.
The filmmakers here were out to make a porn film that looked like a real movie, a la the first "Amanda," but most of the sets in this semi-sequel look like the inside of a studio. Remy is usually noted for the quality of his cinematography, but here it's a bit muddy and too soft-focused. Worse, the direction of the non-sex scenes is dull, which doesn't help the Lime's lackluster script or the acting.
The original "Amanda by Night" of 1981 is a classic narrative-porn flick, skillfully combining an interesting story and some hot hardcore scenes. The makers of the "sequel" attempted that same balance of story and sex, but managed only to produce sequences of dull dialogue that FINALLY get into a sex scene. Each dialogue sequence is of the same general length, and there's little action in them, just people talking and talking some more. Once the sex starts, however, the film is pretty good. The tedious plot, if you care to follow it: Turner, a police detective (Bullock), enlists Melissa, a small-time hooker (Krista) in his investigation of her roommate's murder. Turns out that the roomie was involved in a ring of classy call-girls and ran afoul of a well-connected john. With the help of an undercover cop and former hooker Amanda -- now running a counseling service for prostitutes trying to leave the business -- the detective approaches an arrest while falling in love with Melissa. The script is more detailed than that brief description, but if you pay too much attention to it the holes in the story become apparent. As for the sex: Krista gives a customer (Mike Horner)a warm fuck; Billy Dee has a very hot office threesome with Ona and Nikki; Krista has a romantic coupling with pimp Herschel; Billy has a great bartop fuck with Nina; Krista again, this time discovering true love with Robert; then Tracey, playing a madam, treats her partner (Eric) to a hot-couch conga; and, as a capper, Nina gives Herschel a oily body massage before sucking and fucking him to bliss. All the women in this flick look terrific and show great enthusiasm, though Nina is a little more into it than the others.
The great-looking female cast and the hot sex scenes. Nina is very hot, Krista and Tracey are gorgeous, and the Ona/Nikki/Billy threeway leaves you wishing for more from them.
The plot is tedious, overly complex, and just not very interesting. The non-sex scenes are way too long, too talky, and poorly directed.
You might want to watch this film all the way through just once to dope out the plot. Fans of narrative porn may find it attractive, although there are better videos of that type out there. But what will keep you coming back to this flick is the great late-'80s cast and their sexual enthusiasm. Just keep the fast-forward button handy. RATING: Just barely a 7.

Juan Curves Review
The call girl agency of Amanda’s is under scrutiny again after another employee is murdered by a client. Once more, Amanda (Veronica Hart) is offered clemency if she cooperates with the homicide investigation, this time led by, Alex Turner (Robert Bullock), a not so subtle detective on a quest to get results.
The big question for me was, “Does this sequel come anywhere near the original in production values, acting and plot development?”.
I was almost certain the answer would be no considering the six year gap between productions and the very notable changes in the industry such as the move from film reels to video, the increasingly less focus on plot, story and character, the large dip in budget cuts.
The films were very clearly made in two different eras, not measured by years but by the attitude of the industry. It was to my pleasant surprise to discover that this film has a lot in common with the first film and really is a justified sequel, even in comparison with some mainstream flicks. People could make the connection with this sequel a lot more easier than most sequels they have seen.
Unfortunately for fans, Veronica Hart does not do any sex scenes throughout. She does hold the plot together quite nicely though with some decent acting in a number of crucial scenes. I certainly did notice the age difference. It was mainly because she piled her face with stacks of make up highlighting her age rather than reaching the desire effect of disguising it. She also had adopted the full 80’s frizz by this time.
Although fairly one dimensional,. Robert Bullock shows some acting talent and dedication in his role The other major character, Melissa (Krista Lane) who0 is the key witness in the case is played fairly lazily by Krista but not embarrassingly by any means. She does hold the fort with this one and is quite nice to look at throughout.
In the first scene, super dork Mike Horner plays a nervous first time client of Melissa. She gives him a bit of advice saying that men make the mistake of thinking that sex begins and ends with their pricks. Krista is wearing all the usual embellished jewellery, big earrings, lots of make up. For this one, she also keeps on her black lingerie undergarment throughout the sex which is a nice touch. It’s a slow sensual burn without being very hot or active.
Sleazy strip bar owner takes on his main girl and team leader played by Ona Z and his new up and coming talent played by Nikki Knights on his desk on the pretence that he needs to release a lot of stress after potentially being penetrated by undercover cops. Nikki looks great and Ona gives it an edge with her older, wiser and horny persona. Ona gives Billy a long BJ as Nikki is being kissed and licked out. Ona also receives is on the rear end of most of the pumping as Nikki watches on.
Not long after sharing an intimate moment with cop, Alex Turner. Melissa now makes passionate love to her new powerful but loving boss, Hunter Marshall (Herschel Savage). This is another soft and sensual love making job which I enjoyed but that won’t please everyone. Fans of Krista will be happy though as she rarely disappoints from an eye candy point of view.
Disgruntled girlfriend of Billy Dee’s (Nina Hartley) has just about had enough of his lack of attention before he fucks her on top of the bar. It’s fairly standard to look at. Partly because Nina looks worn out in her eyes, face and movement. She looks as if she had been on a gruelling schedule at this time and it was catching up with her. It was one of the rare times where her eye’s were not smiling.
After some soul searching, Melissa and Alex get it on after reassuring her that he is her friend first and foremost. It’s way too short but I am not complaining as with the rest of the Krista scenes here it’s good without being anything special.
A long way into the film and we are finally introduce to the killer, Timothy Dunn (Eric Edwards) who is well known politician. He is sharing the company of Denise (Traci Adams), a major high class madam with strong connections all over town who wants to arrange for the murder of Melissa after discovering she is being used by the police. Traci and Eric get it on in a standard outing. It’s appeal is purely based on how much you like Traci Adams which in my case is almost not at all. I’ll stick with my long term view of her in that she does have great breasts, she seems like a nice person but her can’t help thinking of her as a forklift drivers wife. Meaning she is way too common in looks and personality.
When the case is almost entirely wrapped up, Billy’s girl/ undercover agent (Nina Hartley) is forced to take on Hunter Marshall in order to arrest him later. This is a better scene then her former one with Billy. She rubs body lotion all over her beautiful, unique natural body. The best part of the sex is when she is riding his cock and she pulls back with her back almost touching the bed for effect.
I tried not to give too much of the plot away in order not too spoil what is a very rare occurrence in porn, a decent plot. At times it does really resemble a non pornographic standard low budget 80’s video thriller which is also a rare occurrence. No one really steals the show although all performances are good. The major let down is that no sex scenes really stand out. Not everyone will enjoy it but fans of the era almost certainly will. 6 out of 10.
