Starring: This could be Georgina Spelvin's best performance. She plays the wife of photography instructor Harry Reems, who runs across a free-loving student named Rainbow who gives him a nude photo of herself that causes trouble in hs marital paradise.
Well-directed, this gem from porn's early days exposes the sexual longings that sneak into marriages and gnaw at its foundation.
While Reems predictably dreams of possessing Rainbow, the film's strength is in Spelvin's desires. Fueled first by jealousy, she, too, fantasies about this succulent young thing, then agonizes about what she fears are lesbian feelings.
That the heat flows from the solid performances. It makes the sex all the more steamy.
Some people may have trouble gettin beyond the dated look of the production.
A classic that is showing its age, but still packs a punch.

Wet Rainbow

Personal Review
Many consider this to be the first successful porn movie with a serious, realistic subject matter. Good acting and script makes this “couples” movie very believable. Spelvin plays a fine art painter in NYC and her husband Reems is a photography teacher and their loving relationship is turned upside down after interacting with a hippy art student, Rainbow. Half the sex scenes are short with the more important ones longer. No money shots here, so raincoater’s beware! Too much dialogue and time between sex, and still, one of the great classics of all time. PR 5
Sex Scene Sequence
1. During credits, Reems is fucking his wife Georgina in front of a huge, nude projected image of Rainbow.
2. Rainbow (Valerie Marron) is doing the final touches on “Sammy” a life-size doll, when she starts pretending and rides his stiff dildo cock to orgasm.
3. Alan and Mary are fucking on the couch when Rainbow comes into the room and starts taking photos of them. They get pissed so she leaves but we get to see the rest of the session.
