Jean Jennings, Annette Haven, Paul Thomas, John Holmes, John Leslie and others. Don't rent this for the sex. This is a "normal" movie, better than many of its mainstream counterparts (for example the soft-core adaptation of de Sade's "Justine", that was so successful in "real" movie-houses). The plot is, as Playboy confirms, a faithful adaptation from the book, and the flea's voice-over is impeccable. The acting falls in two categories: PT and Leslie are superb; Jean and John Holmes are acting up to their limited thespian talent; still, they are trying. The sex is nothing memorable and a lot of it is simulated.
The Imperial Verdict: the review for this one should really be over in rec.arts.movies. As a sex flick it is tremendous in its ambitious plot and careful production. It won't give you a hardon though.

Personal Review
The title says it all! This classic, is the first successful porn flick made by a woman! The time is set in the nineteenth century, staring P. Thomas, playing in his first lead role porn film as Father Ambrose a Catholic priest! The father of lust! Nice costumes. Plus, there is a major theme behind this film and it’s about the hypocrisy behind the church. It is so bad, it makes it good, yet, religious lust is not my taste. PR 4--
Sex Scene Sequence
1. Belle (Jennings) and Charlie (Mandell) sneak off after church in the gardens and they both loose their virginity.
2. Farther Ambrose (Thomas) gives Belle his holy “spunk” before he is interrupted by two more priests (Holmes & Scudder). They each take their turns fucking humbled Belle.
3. Holmes sneaks up a ladder to discover who is in bed is not Belle, but Haven. It is suppose to be pitch dark so he makes love to her and she thinks it is her husband! A humorous scene. I wish it had a better ending.
4. Belle runs into two country hicks. Two strange father / son combo do Belle.(Redling ,Dolan)
5. Julia (Hilden) Delmount’s daughter, tells Belle what priest Ambrose did to her and we see parts of his molestation, although she is still a virgin.
6. Delmount (Leslie) de-virginizes his daughter thinking it is Belle because her head is covered. And he paid for it! Belle, Belle’s Uncle (Dale Meador) and Ambrose set it up. They are so bad!
7. Delmount fucks Belle before father Ambrose comes into the scene and fucks Julia as she lays unconscious, then Belle fucks her uncle, while Delmount is still horny so he is coaxed to fuck his daughter again...then he dies. After a sermon, Ambrose fucks Belle up her ass. Wow!
