If you haven't seen a Girlvert volume by now, you have been missing one of the more consistently entertaining porn themes of all time! Ashley Blue personifies the brat she portrays in Girlvert. There can't be more perfect casting than this. JM Productions has been a maverick outfit from the start with the Bukakkes, and the peeing Lesbian Bukakkes. They have been all about not taking themselves or porn seriously. They are bound to offend someone, even if we are all porn fans. But at least they have the balls to forge ahead and let the criticism fall where it may.
For example, when most interracial is done, it is assumed, in my opinion, that men of both races get off on deflowering the chicks of the "other" race while not particularly caring to see their own women get fucked by the "opposition". Certainly not within the context of playing up in racial angle in the build up. In particular, the stereotype of the big dicked street thug Black dudes aggressively going after the white fair maidens is an element that they know feeds the taboo, therefore the erotic excitement in many viewers, but few companies actually try to ratchet it up. JM tries to blow the lid off of it! He makes the stereotype so obvious, you have to see it for the comedy it is, and laugh at the absurdity of such racial fears.
I haven't seen every Girlvert volume, in fact, I laid off them for a few years, so Volume 17 may not have been the first place they addressed interracial so vividly. But in this volume, they have Ashley going door to door selling home improvement products until she comes upon Devlin Weed's place. Devlin is a seasoned vet in the game, having spent most of it in the low budget hood shoots. He's also one of the dudes the industry calls on for nonsense like this, and like fucking the extremely fat women, the midgets, the MILTFs before it became a surging genre - let's just say he is a Black Jim Hardman - a real porno utility man. Turns out he is perfect to play the thug that tries to get at Ashley with his homie, a dude that is playing the street thug role even more comedically.
As the debate about Denzel and his Oscar for Training Day revealed, the issue of Black men as thugs being considered "acting" has an ugly side to it that speaks to the underside of this country's psyche like no other dirty little secret. And the big dicked Black dude thing - come on! - What chance does an average sized dick Black man have of making it in porno? Don't get me wrong - I'm NOT saying JM was thinking this deeply. I think he's more like a Howard Stern of porn that craves shock-a-bility, and just might be exorcising his own personal demons. But just like Ashley's plaid skirts, knee high stockings and pigtails push the libido's stereotype of youthful nympho sexpots, the "Blackzilla" mentality is all the rage in porn. I would only hope most people "get" the running joke that Girlvert tries to ride. The Simpsons type tongue in cheek outlandishness that hopefully is supposed to give us a laugh without a conscience.
So many places where I laughed even if I was also rubbing my noodle, uh, I mean my "Ananconda", was when the two Black dudes are trying to tear off Ashley's clothes and she cries " Wait, I can get you a lot of white girls - white girls that are way whiter than me! I can get you BLONDES!"
The rest of the DVD is just that, Ashley pulling girls back to the house to get the Black guys the pussy they want. Again, you have to know the Girlvert set up, and shut off the analytical part of your brain for two hours. I would not buy this, but I am re-interested in seeing the Girlvert volumes I haven't seen. Ashley is no raving babe, she has no hot body to speak of, but she does have the "attitude" - that bratty "porn pout" that makes watching her get fucked an erstwhile reality show experience. I can see why JM Productions has made her such a franchise player.
