There are female beings called nymphs. The nymphs seem to have wings that can appear behind their ears, and have some mystical abilities such as teleportation. They seem to have appeared from high in the sky, and their only reason for being is to experience what it is to consummate.
The beginning and ending sequences were that of image stills and music, no animation. Image stills were used throughout the episodes, but Nymphs of the Stratosphere was mostly animated.
Nymphs of the Stratosphere is definitely not a show for the young, and is a nice watch for those who are old enough to watch.
