Starring: This is the touchstone, the porn murder-mystery by which all others are judged. Though it would never satisfy as a mainstream thriller minus the sex, nonetheless, it combined solid acting, sensuous sex and a diverting plot to form a package that sold to anyone who wanted a story with their humping. Twenty years later, Veronica Hart's sunny personality and legitimate acting skills gives the film its heart. For those who've never seen it, Hart plays Amanda, a hooker with a heart of gold, who gives pals Samantha Fox and Lisa DeLeeuw a job that ends tragically. Detective Richard Bolla shows up to unravel the murder and fall in love with the magnetic Amanda.
The always superb director Robert McCallum is at his peek here, proving a porn film could deliver the same qualities of a mainstream movie.
While there's enough sexual variety to keep anyone happy, the best scenes are the most tender, between Hart and Bolla, and Hart and the 18 year-old virgin she gingerly breaks in. That scene alone is a classic.
The performances give the production a depth you rarely see today, but was more common in the Golden Age than we remember.
There's probably too much story for today's porn dogs.
Still, it's worth hunting down on video or DVD. A 10. Always was, always will be.

Juan Curves Review
Amanda (Veronica Hart) runs a high class call girl agency and doubles as a call girl herself if the situation calls for it. One of her employees (Lisa DeLeeuw) is mudered by a client (Frank Hollowell) who becomes enraged and vengeful after she insults him in a tirade of verbal degradation. He kills her and through connections begins to find ways to cover himself.
Ambrose Hart (R Bolla) is assigned the investigation to find the killer. A few potential infomers who could identify the murderer are killed by his business acomplice (Jamie Gillis) who has a personal relationship with Amanda and knows her business well. Amanda at first does not want to help police but eventually she changes her mind after realizing that her old friend/lover (Jamie Gillis) could now be out to kill her.
After learning that she is the main steping stone in the murderer’s evasion plans she begins to see it as a personal vendetta that disturbs everything she believes in leading to a common purpose and bond with Ambrose, they begin to track down the killer.
Good acting from all the main cast except for Jamie Gillis. Veronica Hart, R Bolla, Frank Hollowell, Ron Jeremy all did very well in dramatic roles. If you didn’t know who they are and caught the film in a non erotic sequence, it could easily look like a standard film of the lates 70’s, early 80’s. Having said that the plot is a dime a dozen.
Hart sex scenes though are not so impressive. Though the final scene on a moving yacht with Bolla might please, it is not hardcore and is stopped near the end for the credits to roll. Most of the erotic scenes are fast and below par with the exception of two scenes, one involving Ron Jermey, Micheal Morrison and Lee Carroll. The two cops take advantage of their status to get freebies at the brothel from Lee Carroll.
The best and an outstanding scene at that is a ahead of it’s time domantrix scene involving Lisa DeLeeuw, Samantha Fox (who are both in their finest form) and Frank Hollowell. The scene brings the film out of it’s era, budget and filming limits to a higher place of top notch erotica.
One memorable scene, decent acting and a sultry Veronica Hart looking her best make this film a 3 and a half star effort, redeeming it from the several dissapointing erotica scenes.

Personal Review
This film is the biggest production and most successful detective / murder mystery in porn history. It won 6 awards from the 1981 Critics’ Adult Film Awards. Also, the best acting performances by Bolla and Hart, I’ve seen. This film exemplifies a successful combination of story and explicit sex. PR 5
Sex Scene Sequence
1. Corrupted cop, Jeremy, is fucking Beth (Lisa) and cums in her mouth from tit fucking her huge tits.
2. A mysterious customer picks up two of Amanda’s hooker friends on the street, heroin addict Gwen (Samantha) and red head Beth. At his place, he is hood-winked and is submissive to the two whores as they play hard ball dominatrix game of loud leather-n-leash. Beth is killed.
3. High-class hooker, Amanda (Veronica), takes care of sweet, young Martin in a nice love making scene. High contrast to the above. (Same time as above)
4. At a kinky message parlor, Jeremy, convinces both his vice cop partner, Fender (Manning) and the manager of the business it is best to keep the cops happy in the back room. Queen’s three-way with Lee. (Nastiest Scene)
5. Amanda’s pimp, Friday (Gillis) fucks his leading whore (Veronica).
6. Friday visits his # 2 whore Gwen. Fixes her up with smack in the tub before having a (un-successful) slow-motion sex scene before killing her.
7. At a wild party, Edwards in a beard, fucks Brooke and Arcadia in a bedroom.
8. At the same party, the hostess, places a bet that her stud (Savage) can out last anybody. A black pimp claims his two hookers (Mai & Nicole) can make him come in three minutes. King’s three-way in front of cheering on-lookers.
9. Now, Amanda is the next target by the murderer. Detective Bolla is hired to catch the guy and they slowly fall in love with each other. During the only funny moment, she is in her bedroom masturbating and moaning. Thinking she is in distress, he comes running into her room with his gun pulled only to find her with a vibrator up her twat!
10. Amanda takes her hero (Bolla) on her yaeght for a cruise and a serious fucking.
