This film tells the story of service men and the women of a brothel during
World War II in Hawaii. Most of the sex scenes are very good. The film
starts with Kitty and Ray in a good opening pairing. Kitty then learns her
true love has been killed, so she decides to go back to the States. This
upsets Georgina, the madam of the brothel, so she smokes some opium and
masturbates on a pillow. A waste of a fine woman's talent. We are
introduced to three sailors set for shore leave with one thing on their mind.
One is a virgin, Jeff, so he is introduced to sex by Starr. Jesie gives her
usual good performance with Jon. Jeff then shows Starr that he is a quick
learner. Then Susan, Mandy, Ken and James decide to watch a stag film.
While they are watching the film, they have a good 4-way scene. The stag
film itself is a good piece of work and very realistic looking (somewhat
grainy black and white). While this is going on, a new girl, Dorothy,
shows-up so Georgina checks her out. Again, a waste of Georgina's talent,
but Dorothy does a good job. Then Jeff finds his way to Dorothy's room and
shows that he has graduated from being a virgin to an accomplished
love-maker.
This is a well shot film. It was made to be viewed in a theater from
beginning to end without a fast-forward control. There are a few scenic
shots of the island setting. The music throughout the film is of the 1940's
which help set the time and place extremely well. There is alot of dialogue
used to tell the story of the women in the brothel. The movie builds to a
climax with three scenes happening at the same time, the stag film, the
4-way and Dorothy and Jeff. But it does in such way not to confuse the
viewer but enhances each scene.
This is not an erotic film if your idea of an erotic film features hot sex with
screaming girls. This is an erotic film for those that like a setting, a story,
women who are pleasing to look at, and sex that is well performed. The
women in the film are not drop-dead gorgeous, not even gorgeous fo that
matter. They look like women yo see every day. Also, these are women in
a brothel. Their job is to satisfy men, both with sex and conversation. They
succeed by givin the men waht they want and need. That is why the same
men keep coming back to these women.
This film introduces you to the characters and even though they are
extremely stereotyped, you can identify with them. The film captures what
a brothel would have been like during the 1940s.
It was a waste of Geogina's talents. She was one of the best all time erotic
performers. Her two scenes did not give her a opportunity to show her
ability. Also, the copy I viewed had very poor sound quality.
This is a If you like the films of the 70s and early 80s, then you will like
this film. If you prefer the videos of today, then you probably will not like
this film.
