This is one of the most talked about adult films of all time. The budget is reported to be the highest for any X rated feature ever and one look at the trailer will tell you that this is no ordinary fuck and suck flick. In spite the hype and the critical success of this movie when it was released on video last year, I somehow managed to miss it. Interestingly enough, my first look at ´Conquest´ will be on DVD format. The sweeping pirate epic is bound to look good in this format and is probably a perfect choice to launch Wicked into this new technology. There is a plot here and I will hit the main points in addition to the who does what to who. And don´t forget campers, I happen to love film making and am a sucker for well shot, well written porn, so forgive me if
I have to say I am already impressed by the title sequences. Watching them, the viewer could just as easily think they were watching a mainstream pirate film. The action starts right away as Capt. Callico Jack (Vince Vouyer) and a few of his men ride into town to save their ship mate, Alex Sanders from hanging. As they make their escape, two of the local women, Jenna Jameson and Shayla LaVeaux, ride after them. Meanwhile, the Prince has his own vendetta against Jack. The dialog as good, and the non-sex performance of the Prince is simply brilliant.
As the plot thickens, the first sex scene pretty much materializes from a dialog scene at a tavern. It´s an orgy scene with Tom Byron, Mark Davis, Bobby Vitale, Missy and Sahara Sands. With heavy music and moody, often slow motion sex, this is very beautiful. Now, slow motion sex has never been my favorite, so I think some of the heat may be lost here. (For strokers, but not for couples I would imagine.) Missy, always gorgeous, is great as ever, but Sahara, who often leave me cold, proves to be quite the sword swallower. Whatever you do, don´t confuse slo-mo, couples friendly sex with soft core. There are plenty of close ups here, including some anal action as Sahara has her bum filled with hard cock. Not to be outdone, Missy does anal and gulps down a thick load of hot cream.
Jenna and Shayla are still following Vince. When then find his cabin, both are overcome with lust, and the two blondes find themselves unable to keep from kiss each other. Though I´m not usually one for g/g scenes, both Jenna and Shayla look too good to miss here. Someone want to tackle this question for me though? Watching the two side by side, how did one of these women end up the biggest star of her time, and the other end up as a relative B girl. For my money, Shayla outshines Jenna on pure, hot, sexual energy. Again, there is a lot of slow motion here, but considering how incredibly well shot this is, the scene doesn´t suffer. In fact, those of you who trumpet the genius of Andrew Blake should watch this scene. It is as pretty and well shot, and dare I say, artistic as anything Blake has ever brought us. Oh yeah, Shayla using a string of pearls up Jenna´s ass while fingering her pussy is a pretty nice dose of nasty hard-core mixed in for the strokers in the crowd.
Caught in the cabin by Sanders, Shayla and Jenna have to offer themselves to him in order to save their pretty necks. After watching these two blonde beauties work on each other, this was a good choice for the next sex scene. As much as a rail against slow motion during sex vids, I have to say I see why it´s done here. With the haunting music in the background, a full speed fuck scene would look rather silly. Shayla goes to work on Sanders´ shaft while Jenna perches on some crates, offering her pussy as a midnight snack. It would be hard to loose for Alex, he has two such wonderful options before him. He samples both women equally, giving them a high energy fuck. (I would love to see this scene at full speed. I am guessing it would be a plenty hot raincoater.) Nice to see Jenna with cum on her fact as the scene fades.
Brad Armstrong is the man chosen to hunt Vince down and bring his head to the Prince. (I think someone should have shown Brad the Kevin Costner ´Robin Hood´ and then reminded him that no one would mind if he didn´t have a bad accent.) Unaware of the forces aligning to hunt them down, Jenna and Shayla have hitched a ride on the ship. (Yes, there is a reason, but you can find out for yourselves OK?)
Vince´s crew reaches the island where they are greeted by headhunters. Through a thankful plot twist, things don´t become a scene from ´American Psycho´ (Pop culture references in porn reviews, how novel Rog.) Instead, the crew is treated to an island feast, complete with native dancers, plenty of food, and oh yeah, sex. The King even offers his daughter, Asia Carerra as a gift. (Beats the shit out of a tie or Home Depot gift certificates.) He takes her for some private fun while his crew is left to enjoy the rest of their evening.
Sanders, Davis and Micky enjoy another pair of women, this time, Kia and that always lovely Alex Dane. This time the discrepancy between the two women is tremendous in terms of looks and performance. Kia isn´t bad, but Alex is just beautiful here and watching her suck dick (Yes, even in slow motion) is a treat. Her reverse cowgirl is pretty impressive as well. Now if Kia would just get a phone call and leave the three guys to fuck Alex.....(Dude, this is not interactive movie making.) The double facials are great and may be the sexual highlight of the film. (Another scene I would love to see in full motion.)
Vince is busy with Asia and they share a wordless moment of lust before getting down to it. Asia looks as beautiful as ever and Vince enjoys his prize. One thing I notice at this point in the film, is how Steel is varying the sex scenes. If you watch enough scenes in any given tape, you will notice that most directors stick with a pattern. This time, they skill oral and go right to the fucking. Nice change of pace. Of course, no director in their right mind would let Asia do a scene without wrapping her lips around a hard cock. That hand action looks pretty good to me and Vince smiles a satisfied grin as she takes his balls into her mouth and sucks. Sadly she doesn´t take the load on her face, choosing instead to have it end up on her tits. Still a nice scene.
Bad timing lands Jenna in a big mess when she overhears a plot to kill Vince. One well shot action sequence later, Jenna remains alive, with two dead pirates at her feet and one big ass explanation for Vince.
While they are working out who is who and all that other stuff, James is chasing them down on the high seas. He thanks his crew for their hard work providing them with a little bit of entertainment in the incredible form of Juli Ashton. Taking on a pair of sex starved pirates proves to be no problem at all for Juli. In fact, Brad decides that there is room enough for another dick in the circle of lust. This three on one takes place on the boat, and Juli looks simply ravishing. Even slowed down, her sexual heat shines through. Really nice facials close this scene out.
Deciding their paths have crossed for a reason, Jeanna and Vince forge an uneasy union. They will fight James together. (He killed both their families after all.) Before the final battle though, they have to have a little one on one in the sand. Jenna certainly looks good enough to eat and Vince enjoys a little sea food snack at the edge of the surf. Even in slo-mo, Jenna´s two fisted blowjob is great to watch. In perhaps the best acting performance of her career, Jenna fucks Vince like it really may be her last romp. If only she could deliver her lines so convincingly. Three positions and a very nice facial later, the sex ends and it´s off to battle.
I´m not going to tell you that the sex in this movie is my style. It´s not. The music and slow motion action is very couples oriented and you all know how I feel about that. (If you don´t, the RD version is that I think it drains most of the heat from a scene.) In this case, there are still some sexual moments that are plenty strokeable. Alex Dane, Juli Ashton and Jenna all give scenes that defy the usual rule. However, whether you like couples, Blake-esque sex or not, what is most striking about ´Conquest´ is what a nice piece of film it is. It really has the look of a mainstream film with fantastic camera work, great costumes and a credible, interesting story. Some of the dialog is too good for the performers, but they pull it off for the most part. So, while this certainly has to go right at the top of the recommended-for-couples films, ´Conquest´ should also be seen by everyone who thinks that porn can actually can be FILM. Even if raincoaters won´t be thrilled, ´Conquest´ is still a great adult film and should not be missed.

An "A list" cast who pretty much all turn in good performances. As always, Jenna generates a lot of heat. Also, Shayla was pretty hot as well. Even the acting in this plot based flick was pretty well done.
Overall, this vid boasts excellent production values, especially non-sex wise. The filming, costumes and sets are all very well done. Even the script is passable, for a porn film anyway.
The only downside, production wise, is that there is a bit too much emphasis on "soft" cable ready shots. Fortunately the overall quality of the vid compensates for this.
Erotically, this is warm to hot. The target audience is obviously couples and Jenna fans. . . Max Hardcore it ain't.
The girls are all hot and the sex is pretty well filmed, so all in all this delivers erotically.
The excellent female cast is the highlight of this video. The g/g between Jenna and Shayla is very good, and I'm not even a big g/g fan.
My only complaint about this one is that there is a bit too many cable ready angles. Otherwise, it's pretty good.
This is a very good couples film. . . I'd give it an "8".

It had great potential to be a high quality production. The opening sequence suggested that it would be a good film. Unfortunately, it went down hill from there. . .
The erotic potential was there, and shows up in a few scenes, but usually I was laughing too hard at the overly melodramatic acting to appreciate it. The sex seemed gratuitous and not necessarily linked to the plot. Some sections were well done, but lost their erotic potential because of the attempt at acting. It was a much hotter movie if you fast-forwarded through the "acting".
Jenna Jameson and Asia Carrera are both very attractive and a pleasure to watch.
The feable attempt to creat a high-class couples movie. The attempt at acting was abysmal and laughable. The director really should have chosen a direction, whether it be the usual low-budget sex flick or to go all out and make a decent movie where the sex compliments the film.
I'm disappointed. I think this had the potential for being an extraordinary film, but they missed the mark. I would only rate it a 4, and that is due to it's missed potential.

I would say about a 7 some scenes rock some aren't

Some of the guys are old past their glory days! Not enough Jenna for me. Some scene where hard to see because of the darkness of the ship.
This is overall a good movie because theres a lot of stars in it, plot was alright overall a 7. 5, could use a little more to it overall a good film worth a look try the dvd version first.
