Juan Curves Review
A romantic drifter walks along a deserted road in search of something worth living and dying for. He’s about to find both and take it full circle when he stumbles upon a brothel/ hotel on a ranch property owned by a troublesome man with beautiful, romantic wife.
Another finely directed flick by legend, John Leslie on the cusp of 80’s and 90’s. It’s amazingly well written for a skin flick with a complex and intriguing plot although John Leslie did manage to pull off a few other films with a similar calibre of script and execution at that time.
We now know that nobody has followed through with the benchmark set here for genuine acting and story lines for porno. If anyone in porn at that time wanted to get serious about acting then signing up for a John Leslie film was the only chance to seriously test your skills and to have any remote chance of being notice by the rare directors interested in porno stars crossing over to the mainstream.
In fairness though, that pretty much stopped after Traci Lords despite the rare cameo appearances from stars such as Ginger Lynn, Juli Ashton, Ashlyn Gere, Tabitha Stevens, Jenna Jameson and so on.
I was very happy with the cast here. Nina Hartley plays a bad guy which was a big turn on for me. She looked very hot in a black beret, her bright blonde locks tied up in a bonnet, big earrings and necklace. Her fantastic pool blue eyes were complimented by this look as well as the dark lighting in contrast with her fair tones. The panther like, Selena Steele with her fantastic toned, shapely body and her fiery performances also greatly pleased. And last but by no means the least, the newly introduced to me girl that really impressed me was Cheri Taylor. This girl is beautiful with dyed blond, a great ass and top of the line body. She also talks with the sweetest, loving voice which made her perfect for the role of the oppressed wife who has been seeking for higher ideals all her life through romantic poetry.
The first scene is between blue collar good time guys (Randy Spears & Eric Price) taking on the mute, hired help, tea room girl (Selena Steele). Nothing new but Selena looks fantastic and everybody enjoys themselves in a good effort. While this is going on, Suzanne Locke (Cheri Taylor) gives her husband (Wayne Summers) a BJ while they watch the threesome.
The second scene involves Richard Parker (Sean Micheals) and Cheri Taylor in a slow burn romantic fuck. Good chemistry on show due to the romantic lead up and theme between them. Sean’s huge ding dong looks great being gently licked while shafting through Cheri’s jugs.
Third scene – Jacqueline and Jon Dough. Snotty rich wife takes on bonehead, a hired farm hand who is gifted downstairs in a bathroom while her husband impatiently waits outside. It’s quick and basic but ok to watch. Jacqueline looks like she’s in her early thirties. She has strongly coloured red hair with average to slightly above average looks.
The fourth scene got me excited immediately after I saw Nina in her beret taking on Marc Wallace in a barn. Plenty of good shots of Nina makes this simple but very good viewing.
Fifth scene – Nina, Selena, Jon Dough. After taking hostages, Gus (Joey Silvera) gets bored and asks Bone head (Jon Dough) to fuck Selena. He hesitates and Joey tells Nina to warm her up. There is some nice passionate kissing between them and licking. Nina still in her beret, this duo look great together. Jon Dough appearance is minimal, short and forgettable.
Sixth scene – Jacqueline, Joey Silvera. Gus asks her for a BJ in front of her husband. She is more than willing to do so with passion. He then gives it to her over the table. When they finish, she asks if she can run away with the criminals. Fairly standard but watchable.
In conclusion, this film packs more dramatic punch then some main stream films except with that low budget look and low budget acting. The sex is not so special in it’s design but in it’s participants, look and build up. Having said that, this won’t be to everyone’s taste especially those who are only interested in fast hardcore action and a lot of it. If you do like films such as “Curse of the Catwoman” or “Chameleons” or just “The Catwoman” by John Leslie then you should love it as much as I did. 8 out 0f 10.
