You can love him or leave him, but you can't fault him for his knack at getting girls raw off the street in these early volumes. Ed made his mark with tapes called "Bus Stop Tales" and this is not long after that, in the early to mid 90s. The 2003 date is the dvd reissue. In these days of fast and furious angry sex, you have to appreciate the low tech simplicity of just having a solitary camera, a girl that is there, but not so sure of herself, and using some charm and gentle coaxing to lead her down the carnal path. The art of "deflowering" an erstwhile virgin.
I believe this is the one and only appearance of Vanessa Pride, the light skinned black or hispanic chick on the headshot to the left on the cover. My mouth has watering in anticipation as he walked her through the interviewing, and the way the girls talk is so real, so shy and new to the whole deal. Ed gets Vanessa to warm up and to do anal. You'll feel tempted to fast forward, but the beauty of it is the slow pacing as the seduction unfolds.
Myria is even more precious, like he plucked a young Wynona Ryder off the street, trying to look all mature smoking cigarettes. There's a surreal moment where he leaves the room and lets the camera just sit there and roll. This girl is achingly cute! He comes back and starts to kiss her and she just trembles as she melts as the waves of lust comes over her. She does a little masturbation stunt, lying on her stomach to get off. Folks you have to see it, if the unpolished raw footage of new girls is of interest to you, this is one of Ed's best. It's true voyeurism, or as close as you'll get on a virtual level.
This is even before Ed's shoots became a more well lubed conveyor belt with a higher percentage of porn wannabes that have already decided to do this on a larger scale. Myria and Vanessa Pride are not this type. I bet they are today soccer moms and business women, hoping no one recognizes them on the one cover representing a time they let their wild streak roam free. I will NEVER get tired of replaying this DVD, in fact, I might go give it a look-see right now.
I followed every Myria appearance after this, and I believe she only worked for Ed a few times then disappeared. I don't think Vanessa Pride never appeared again. There was shades of her in a girl that did enter porn more in depth, named Shonna Lynn. Both were kind of young Katie Holmes/Reese Whitherspoon-ish types. You should check this dvd out at least once.
